Listening Lesson

Main Activities:

1. Warm-up (10 mins):

Students need to chat with their partner the following questions:

1. What wild animal would you most like to see? Why?

2. If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

Choose 3 students to share their answers to the class.

2. Show students the video clip- ‘12 rare animals of Nepal’. (20 mins):

Students will work as a group. Each group will be given a mini white board and a marker. Students need to write down the names of the animals in the video on the mini white board while watching.

Each group will share their answers to the whole class.

3. Listening gap fill questions (30 mins):

Distribute the listening gap fill past paper.

Students have to underline the key words and predict the answer word form.

Students need to discuss within the group and write down the predictions on the mini white board.

Each group need to share their predictions with the class.

Play the recording twice.

Students should check the answers with their partner first and see whether their answers match their predictions.

Students exchange the listening paper with their partner. The teacher shows students the answers and students have to mark each other's paper.

Students return the paper to their partner and correct the mistakes by themselves.
