TESOL Mourns the Passing of Muriel Saville-Troike

TESOL International Association was greatly saddened to learn of the passing of TESOL Past President Muriel Saville-Troike last March. She served as TESOL president from 1974-75 and was a Regents' Professor and professor emerita in the Department of English at The University of Arizona. Her interests included first and second language acquisition (especially Navajo and Chinese), language attrition, and contrastive rhetoric.
